One of my key contributions was solving how to illustrate an isometric-style map of the downtown area as a small group of designers. My solution included creating a perfect square from stitched Google map screenshots that I then transformed into an isometric view, divided into equal sections, and could be drawn up from. Then, while referencing Google Earth, we could illustrate a section of the city. When it came to putting the divided city back together, I again took the lead in fixing any inconsistencies. The result was the very large and detailed illustrated map we needed for the project.
Additionally, I put forth the accepted “Paint the Town” idea into the app. In this added bit of functionality, a user would be able to draw and write on our downtown map and share screenshots of their creations via social media or email, engaging the user’s creativity, adding personalization, and making a more enjoyable experience.
